Xpand Biotechnology consortium receives EUR 14 million from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs for a New Generation of Efficient Biomedical Research Tools.
Xpand Biotechnology announced today that the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs (SmartMix programme) has awarded a Dutch consortium in which it is a partner, EUR 14 million for the development of a New Generation of Efficient Biomedical Research Tools. This programme, which is coordinated by the University of Leiden, will enable Xpand to develop and evaluate a new generation of bone graft materials in novel assays.

Xpand Biotechnology consortium receives EUR 15 million from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs for a Translational Regenerative Medicine programme.
Xpand Biotechnology announced today that the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs (SmartMix programme) has awarded a Dutch consortium in which it is a partner, EUR 15 million for a Translational Regenerative Medicine (TeRM) programme. This programme, which is coordinated by the University of Twente, will enable Xpand to further develop and clinically evaluate its unique osteoinductive synthetic bone graft material in craniomaxillofacial surgery and orthopaedics.

Xpand Biotechnology consortium receives EUR 5.4 million for the development of Customisable Medical Implants.
Xpand Biotechnology announced today that the EU Integrated Project consortium "Custom-IMD", in which it is a partner, has received a EUR 5.4 million grant to develop Customisable Medical Implants using novel biomaterials and rapid manufacturing technologies. This EU frame-work 7 project has 23 partners divided over Europe is has a duration of 4 years.

Xpand Biotechnology scientists publish results of a clinical study on cell-based bone tissue engineering in PLoS Medicine.
Xpand Biotechnology scientists report today in the esteemed, open-access journal PLoS Medicine, the clinical results of a cell-based bone tissue engineering study in 10 patients. They furthermore discuss possible new directions that need to be exploited to make bone tissue engineering a clinical success.

Xpand Biotechnology and Queen Mary University of London sign a Programme Sponsorship, Studentship and Intellectual Property agreement.
Xpand Biotechnology announced today that it has signed a 4-year Programme Sponsorship, Studentship and Intellectual Property Agreement with Queen Mary University of London. In turn for an undisclosed payment for this programme and studentship, Xpand will obtain the exclusive Intellectual Property rights related to the development of osteoinductive materials, stem cell expansion and injectable bone tissue engineering.

Xpand Biotechnology consortium receives EUR 1.6 million to develop and evaluate mineralized, silk based, composites for orthopaedic applications.
Xpand Biotechnology announced today that the EU co-operative research project consortium "SilkBone", in which it is a partner, has received a EUR 1.6 million grant to develop and evaluate mineralized, silk based, composites for orthopaedic applications. The total costs of this programme are EUR 2.1 million.

Xpand Biotechnology consortium receives EUR 1.9 million to develop stem cell expansion bioreactor
Xpand Biotechnology announced today that as coordinator in a consortium with Twente University and Applikon BV has received a EUR 1.9 million grant to develop a fully automated bioreactor system for the expansion of adult stem cells. The total costs of this programme are EUR 3.6 million.
